Vinyl has long been a go-to for damp environments like basements, bathrooms, laundry rooms and kitchens, but the traditionally thin material was easily damaged and rather uncomfortable under foot. In response, manufacturers developed
luxury vinyl flooring (LVF) that's available in both planks and tiles.
Made from six to eight layers of material, LVF is much thicker than traditional vinyl and semi-rigid in nature. A cushion layer makes them comfortable to walk on and a thick wear layer makes them durable. Manufactured from 100% synthetic materials also makes them impervious to water. Designed to “float” over the subfloor, installation requires no nails, glue or specialized equipment and the click-lock interlocking edges make for easy installation.
